Taiwan Aging and Mental Illness Cohort (TAMI)
The Taiwan Aging and Mental Illness Cohort (TAMI) was initiated in 2012 through a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) research program jointly led by Professor Albert C. Yang, the Principal Investigator, and Dr. Shih-Jen Tsai, Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. The study has been conducted at Taipei Veterans General Hospital and the Yang Ming Campus of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.
To date, TAMI has enrolled more than 1,000 participants, including 687 healthy individuals aged 20 to 92 years and 796 individuals with psychiatric disorders, comprising schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder. All participants underwent brain MRI scans at the MRI facility located on the Yang Ming Campus. In addition to demographic and clinical data, the cohort includes multimodal neuroimaging data, encompassing structural MRI, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and functional MRI (fMRI).
